The Matix Group has been established by the Kanodia family of the Datamatics Group. The Datamatics Group, established in 1975 and currently employing over 5000 people, is a multi-business information technology organisation which has pioneered innovative concepts and solutions in the IT sector.

The Matix Group will diversify into high-growth sectors including manufacturing, services and infrastructure.

Using state-of-the-art technology and adhering to international safety and environment norms, the Matix Group will build world-class businesses providing high quality products and services. The Matix Group's flagship investment is a 3 million ton per annum (MTPA) fertiliser plant in West Bengal.

In Phase 1, Matix is investing Rs 5000 crore (US$ 1.1 billion) to set up a 1.3 MTPA single stream Ammonia Urea plant with integrated facilities. The complex will produce fertiliser close to where customers need it and reduce the region's reliance on imports.

The world-class plant is being developed with strategic international partners providing technology, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning support. A highly qualified and internationally experienced management team is leading the Project.
